Survivors & Supporters Mid Winter Christmas Meal

You are invited to come and enjoy a complimentary meal for you and your support whanau/friends at this year’s mid-winter Christmas dinner.  To be held on Saturday 2nd July, from 11am to 2pm at the Whangarei Cruising Club rooms, Kissing Point, Riverside Drive, Whangarei.   We have a beautiful hot meal planned, and the bar will be available for you to purchase refreshments. 

Have fun and take part in our Secret Santa gift exchange.  Bring along a small wrapped gift valued at $5 - $10 to pop into Santa's Xmas sack.  If you wish your child/children to receive a gift from Santa, please bring a gift clearly marked with the child's name on it. 🎁

We will have some guest speakers, and don't forget to bring some change so you can take part in our Raffle.  We already have a delicious Homemade Christmas cake up for grabs.

This event is held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 9.30am at the Mokaba Cafe, Town Basin. Location is 6 Quay Side.

 

Look out for the pink flower on the table, complimentary coffee for newcomers to the group.


 

 

 

 

Our fundraiser for 2021 was going to be:

Hot Pink Gala

Whilst we committed to organising this event, which was going to be our biggest fundraiser for the year, it became increasingly apparent that it would only be a success when at Level 1 of the Government COVID-19 restrictions.  Given the uncertainty at the time we decided to postpone it. We sincerely hope to bring it to you in 2022.

 

Your Breast Cancer Support Trustees and Volunteers are proud to be planning a Hot Pink Gala event. This will be a large fundraiser for 2022.


We also hope to bring you our previously sucessful Pink Loop event back in 2022 after a 2 year hiatus.   The money we raise will be used to expand our "Helping Hands" service which offers meals and financial contributions to newly diagnosed women, pay for our seventh annual retreat and too train more support volunteers.

Past Events


Due to Covid 19 restrictions our Pink Loop Walk has not taken place since October 2019.

So far we have held four Pink Loop Walks to raise funds (that remain here in Northland) to support people diagnosed with breast cancer.  Our Trust is a support network providing practical and emotional help to those with breast cancer. The last event saw the Town Basin turn PINK with over 420 people registered for the walk. In total we raised $8,000 to help people in Northland living with breast cancer.

 

To achieve this the Trust depended heavily upon local businesses to provide us with Spot and Auction Prizes.  This enables us to fulfill our aim of holding a Silent Auction at each of our large events. We are always looking for Sponsors for our major events, not only to provide support but to also get involved on the actual day.

 

With the Pink Loop walk we like to have entertainment as the participants go around the loop, so we ask local groups and organisations to set up areas to promote their activity and cheer us on. And of course no event would be right without the food & refreshment vendors being there too.  

 

There is a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to make our big events the success they are. We couldn't do it without significant support from helpers, trustees and businesses:
